I've found that often times, a DVD (or blu-ray) movie offers you a choice to wat
ch the theatrical release or the extended release(s). Sometimes both versions a
re on the same disc and there's a menu option, and other times, there are multip
le discs with the different versions of the movie. And other times, the deleted
scenes are a special feature rather than being added back into the movie.
