In regards to single action semi autos, (such as my 1911) I carry one in
the chamber, hammer back and on safe. Now, it is not an old 1911 so it also fe
atures a firing pin block as well. Some people are not comfortable with that, h
owever, the gun will not go off unless I do the following
1. Release the manual saftey
2. Activate the grip saftey
3. Pull the trigger
Personaly in my experience and time as a cavalry scout in the US Army, i
t takes way to long to rack a slide when you need to draw and use/point that pis
tol quickly. Opinons and mileage for the same may vary...
