If replacing VHS copies, I think it can make sense to buy the DVDs or blu-rays i
f available. They usually do a process so that the image takes advantage of the
mediums' higher resolution. If you record VHS onto DVD etc., then you're still
really only getting a 480p(?) quality image from the VHS tape.
