Good thought. What you don't allow to be updated can't be nuked.

It is really irritating when Adobe promoted it for so long as THE 
solution for interactive video everything, so now that there's a bunch 
of stuff entrenched in it with no replacement in sight, POOF. Hey Adobe  idiots,
it's not just for cute animations or playing cat videos!

My own solution has been to load the .SWF file into the standalone flash
engine, then export it as a Windows executable. Voila, no more need for 
flash. (I'm not even sure I have flash installed on the current system.)
